The Role

Deal Advisory Tax provides market-leading services to both Financial and Corporate investors. Our teams focus on clients in three performance groups: Financial Services, Corporates, and National Markets. We are a connected, national team working collaboratively across borders.

  • Financial Services: We work with private equity, infrastructure, and real estate funds, as well as institutional investors like sovereign wealth and pension funds, with UK, European, and global strategies.
  • Corporates: We support FTSE 100 and 250 companies with strategic acquisitions, carve-outs, de-mergers, disposals, and joint ventures, both domestically and internationally.
  • National Markets: We serve mid-market UK corporates and PE funds investing across key sectors to boost local economies.

The team offers advisory services across the deal spectrum, including due diligence, structuring, refinancing, and listing support, handling deals from £10m to over £10bn. Our focus is on helping clients understand tax issues and structure transactions to maximize value, often involving multi-country advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Partners and Directors on complex transactions to deliver high-quality advice.
  • Support business development activities, including proposals and pitches.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Serve as a primary contact for clients, legal advisers, and internal teams.
  • Coach and develop colleagues, fostering a learning environment.
  • Prepare and review detailed UK and international tax advice.
  • Analyze tax documents and data, highlighting key issues and their commercial implications.
  • Work with UK and overseas tax specialists, providing critical analysis.
  • Stay updated on UK and OECD tax developments.
  • Understand financial models from a tax perspective.
  • Contribute to thought leadership in Deal Advisory Tax.

The Person

  • Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent.
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, with a keen interest in transactions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid UK corporate tax knowledge and awareness of other tax and accounting matters.
  • Analytical, curious, with a commercial approach.
  • Excellent project management and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive in business development.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
