Job summary

Warrington & Vale Royal College seeks a Communication Support Worker to provide bespoke communication support to D/deaf young people in post-16 education. You will interpret in British Sign Language and other agreed methods, using AAC as part of an inclusive communication approach to ensure learners can access all college activities.

The role requires a Level 3 qualification and 5 GCSEs including English and Maths, with additional BSL qualifications.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification and 5 GCSEs including English and Maths.
• Qualification in British Sign Language (BSL).
• Ability to interpret/translate information in BSL and other agreed communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide bespoke communication support to D/deaf young people in post-16 education.
• Interpret/translate information in British Sign Language and other agreed methods.
• Use Augmentative and Alternative Communication as part of an inclusive approach.
