BFAIR (Berkshire Family & Individual Resources) is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide comprehensive supports in a group home setting. The DSP assists individuals with daily living activities such as personal care, housekeeping, cooking, and recreational planning to help them become as independent as possible and to pursue personal goals.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or GED or one year related experience.
• Basic math skills; read and write; effective verbal and written communication.
• Must pass background checks and have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Direct Support Professional is primarily responsible for providing various supports to individuals with disabilities in a group home setting. The DSP assists individuals in all areas of daily living including personal care, housekeeping, cooking, and recreational activities. The DSP works closely with individuals to help them to become as independent as possible and to meet their own personal goals. Also assists individuals to find and participate in community activities they enjoy while encouraging community membership as well as pursuing individual interests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Min of 18 years of age. High School Diploma/GED or one year experience in a related field, must possess basic math (addition/subtraction) skills, ability to read & write, communicate effectively both verbally and written, ability to multi-task and exercise good judgement. Ability to complete all initial and ongoing background checks including but not limited to: CORI, SORI, Fingerprinting, LEIE, Driving record, E-verify, Physical, PPD and licensing and/or certification checks (i.e., nursing). Valid US driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle.
