Job summary

Dalkia UK is seeking an experienced Chef for a Monday to Friday daytime role at Dungeness Power Station. You will join a catering team, support the Chef Manager, lead a small kitchen team and ensure great food and customer service.

You'll be responsible for preparing meals, supporting menu planning, maintaining hygiene standards and managing stock to control costs. A positive, safety-focused environment is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Chef in a high-volume catering environment.
• Strong culinary skills and passion for quality food.
• Experience in supervising a kitchen team and mentoring juniors.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present meals to consistently high standard.
• Assist menu planning, considering nutrition, dietary needs and budgets.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.
• Support Chef Manager with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff.
• Order stock and manage supplies to minimise waste and costs.
• Ensure standards and regulatory requirements are followed.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and customer service.
