Job summary

Travail Employment Group is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a days-only role with no nights and optional overtime. You will join a long-established manufacturing team responsible for keeping automated production equipment running smoothly across a range of tasks from preventive maintenance to PLC fault finding.

The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 and has strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, with confidence in diagnosing faults on PLCs and automated systems.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 engineering qualification.
• Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance skills.
• Confident fault-finding on automated equipment and PLCs.
• Willing to undertake additional training.
• Proactive and takes pride in improving equipment uptime.

Responsibilities

• Planned & preventive maintenance across automated machinery.
• Mechanical & electrical breakdown response, fault finding and repair.
• Upgrades & installation of new manufacturing equipment.
• Working with PLC systems to diagnose faults.
• Fault finding on wiring, control panels and 3-phase motors.
• Reporting issues to the Plant Manager and supporting continuous improvement.
• Manufacturing jigs, fixtures and test equipment using drills, grinders and lathes.
• Maintaining conveyors, gears, rollers and motors.
• Installation and maintenance of ducting and pipework.
• Setting, operating and maintaining process control checks on production equipment.
