PRS in London is seeking an experienced Day Technician to join an established data centre operator, supporting the maintenance, reliability and performance of critical infrastructure within a live facility.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC and electrical distribution, perform fault finding, and maintain accurate records while working with contractors to keep the site running safely and efficiently.

Formación

• Electrical or mechanical qualification required.
• Experience in facilities maintenance or data centres.
• Knowledge of UPS, HVAC, electrical distribution and plant systems.
• Experience with planned preventive maintenance and fault finding.
• Awareness of health and safety and permit-to-work procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across building services and infrastructure.

We are recruiting for an experienced Day Technician to join an established data centre operator, working in-house at a critical facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically qualified engineer to support the maintenance, reliability and performance of critical infrastructure within a data centre environment.

Working as part of an on-site engineering team, you will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault finding and supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of essential building services.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across critical building services and infrastructure.
• Maintain and monitor critical systems, including UPS, generators, chillers, HVAC and electrical distribution.
• Conduct routine plant inspections, identify potential issues and report defects or abnormalities.
• Diagnose faults and support corrective maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime.
• Assist with the testing, servicing and maintenance of critical equipment.
• Coordinate and support specialist contractors during planned maintenance and project works.
• Follow site-specific procedures, including standard operating procedures, emergency operating procedures and method statements.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset information and technical documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team to maintain site reliability and operational standards.

Experience Required

• An electrical or mechanical qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance, building services, critical environments or data centres.
• Working knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems and associated maintenance procedures.
• Experience carrying out planned preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and fault finding.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team.
• A proactive approach to maintenance, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and continuous improvement.
