Job summary

Voyage Care in Wellington is seeking compassionate Support Workers to help people gain more independence in daily life within a welcoming residential service.

You will work as part of a friendly team across activities, personal care, and community access, with paid enhanced evenings/weekends and other benefits. DBS checks and references are required, and a UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must be genuinely caring and able to support daily living activities.
• Experience following Positive Behaviour Support plans is desirable.
• Experience with individuals requiring enhanced support, including mental health and autism, is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Typical Shifts are: Monday - Sunday 08:00 - 20:30

We’re on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands‑on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our residential service, set just off the main street in Wellington, is a beautiful home, set in lush green grounds. It has its own hydrotherapy pool and sensory room and has a welcoming and friendly environment. You can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities.

One day you could be out with the people we support in local bars and pubs, the next you could be unwinding with them playing video games, watching films or going to the cinema.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should ideally hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions, autism and people who have experienced trauma.
