Job summary

SCINERGY Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Day Shift Team Leader for a Glasgow-based Energy from Waste facility. You will lead the day operations team, manage the site permit office and serve as Senior Authorised Person for day-shift activities.

You will ensure safe, efficient planning and execution of plant activities in line with environmental and operational requirements, coordinating contractors and maintaining safety documentation.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or leadership experience in power generation, EFW or similar.
• Strong safe systems of work and Permit to Work experience.
• Senior Authorised Person experience, covering mechanical, HV and LV electrical safety.
• Experience coordinating employees, contractors and maintenance activities.
• Relevant engineering qualification (ONC/HNC or similar).
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day operations team, prioritising workloads to support plant availability and performance.
• Act as the site's lead SAP and provide day-shift SAP cover.
• Oversee the permit office, isolations and safety documentation.
• Coordinate operational and maintenance activities involving site employees and contractors.
• Act as lead SAP during planned outages.
• Ensure compliance with the site's environmental permit and safety requirements.
• Manage training, competency development and shift cover for the team.
• Support risk assessments, incident investigations and permit-office audits.
• Coordinate delivery of process consumables and collection of site by-products.

Day Shift Team Leader – Energy from Waste

£65,000 + bonus + overtime + private medical + pension

Glasgow, Scotland

SCINERGY Recruitment is supporting a leading Energy from Waste operator in the recruitment of a Day Shift Team Leader for its established power generation facility in Glasgow.

This is a key operational leadership position responsible for managing the day shift team, overseeing the site permit office and acting as the lead Senior Authorised Person. You will ensure plant activities are planned and delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with environmental and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day operations team, prioritising workloads to support plant availability and performance
• Act as the site's lead Senior Authorised Person and provide day-shift SAP cover

Skills and experience

To be considered for this position, you should have:
