Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd in Selhurst is hiring a Day Shift Yard Protection Operative to help keep depot operations safe and trains running smoothly. The role focuses on protecting colleagues, operating CTS and coordinating depot activities on a Sunday–Saturday roster.

You will lead safety checks, supervise teams, and ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work, and site instructions. Prior experience in safety-critical environments and leadership is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety-critical environments.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Willingness to lead and supervise teams.
• Experience in railway or related industries is desirable.
• Ability to work on a Sunday–Saturday roster and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate CTS and monitor 750V DC conductor rail safety within depot sidings.
• Set up and brief Safe Systems of Work and supervise depot activities.
• Coordinate train cleaning, servicing and maintenance tasks.
• Inspect trains and infrastructure and report defects or safety concerns.
• Carry out quality checks and act as Fire Precautions Manager/First Aider as required.
