Job summary

Kingdom People in Halifax is seeking a Deputy Works Manager to oversee day-shift production teams, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality output. You will monitor attendance, enforce standards, and coordinate labour and materials to maintain smooth factory operations.

The ideal candidate will disassociate from team dynamics when needed, make timely decisions, and drive performance while maintaining strong safety and compliance across departments.

Qualifications

• Lead and support day-shift production teams to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality output.
• Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
• Manage staff conduct, communication, conflict and performance concerns.
• Maintain workflow efficiency and ensure production targets are met.
• Uphold and enforce health & safety standards, challenging unsafe behaviour immediately.
• Coordinate labour, machines and materials to maintain smooth factory operations.
• Work closely with subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure compliance and quality.
• Provide accurate daily reporting, highlighting risks, delays and resource requirements.
• Act as a professional leader who can step back from team friendships and maintain managerial objectivity.
