Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Deputy Works Manager for a Halifax-based structural steel facility. The role focuses on supporting day-shift operations, ensuring safety, efficiency and alignment with production schedules.

You will lead teams, manage performance and uphold high standards across production. The ideal candidate demonstrates decisive leadership, fair management of staff, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a busy manufacturing environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support day-shift production teams to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality output.
• Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
• Manage staff conduct, communication, conflict and performance concerns.
• Maintain workflow efficiency and ensure production targets are met.
• Uphold and enforce health & safety standards, challenging unsafe behaviour immediately.
• Coordinate labour, machines and materials to maintain smooth factory operations.
• Work closely with subcontractors and supply chain partners to ensure compliance and quality.
• Provide accurate daily reporting, highlighting risks, delays and resource requirements.
• Act as a professional leader who can step back from team friendships and maintain managerial objectivity.
