Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living activities including washing, toileting, dressing and undressing while maintaining dignity.
• Assist residents with physical, emotional and spiritual needs and monitor comfort and well-being.
• Support residents with mobility challenges and use aids as appropriate.
• Monitor residents who may be confused or have behavioural issues and assist with continence.
• Support care planning and complete daily records per policy.
• Engage residents in activities and social interactions within the home.
• Answer nurse call systems, doors and phones and relay messages promptly.
• Report wellbeing observations to senior care staff and escalate concerns as needed.
• Carry out regular resident checks as directed by senior staff.
• Provide a welcoming environment for visitors and assist with refreshments.
• Assist with bed-making and maintaining clean, tidy rooms and waste disposal.
• Clean and maintain equipment used by residents and relatives and ensure the home is well-kept.
• Record participation and feedback to ensure meaningful engagement.
