Job summary

Highgate Care is seeking a Care Assistant at Bowerfield House, Stockport, Greater Manchester. This permanent role focuses on delivering person-centred care, maintaining dignity and comfort for residents, and supporting daily living activities.

You’ll be part of a small, compassionate team, with training opportunities and a friendly workplace. The role requires warmth, reliability, and flexibility to cover some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help residents with daily living activities (washing, toileting, dressing).
• Support residents' physical, emotional and spiritual needs with dignity.
• Assist residents with limited mobility and use of aids.
• Monitor residents, including those with confusion or behavioural needs.
• Support continence and care for residents with progressive illness.
• Complete daily records and assist with care planning as required.
• Engage residents in activities and social events in the Home.
• Answer nurse call system, door, and telephone promptly.
• Report well-being to senior care staff and follow supervision guidance.
• Help with bed-making, room cleanliness, and waste disposal per policy.
• Maintain and clean equipment (wheelchairs, hearing aids, etc.).
• Record participation and feedback to ensure meaningful engagement.
