Job summary

Avon Search & Selection is recruiting a Care Assistant (Days) for a 30-bed residential home in Churston, Brixham, Devon. The role is full-time, 36 hours per week, with day shifts from 8am to 8pm.

You will provide person-centred care, assist with personal care, meals, mobility and daily routines, while supporting residents to maintain dignity and independence. NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable; previous care experience is welcome but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care setting is preferred but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care desirable.
• Compassionate, patient and caring nature.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable and committed approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
• Support residents with personal care, mobility and daily routines.
• Assist with meals and refreshments.
• Support residents to participate in activities and social interaction.
• Maintain residents' comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the day.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
• Respond promptly and compassionately to residents' needs and requests.
• Promote a safe, comfortable and supportive environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider care team.
• Build positive and respectful relationships with residents and their families.
