Avon Search & Selection is recruiting two dedicated Care Assistants to join a welcoming care home in Totnes, Devon. The role offers 42 hours per week with a salary of £28,173.60 per annum, across day or night shifts.

You will provide compassionate support with personal care, daily routines, meals and mobility, helping residents feel safe, comfortable and valued. Both day and night positions require a professional, person-centred approach within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience preferred but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care desirable.
• Compassionate, caring and patient by nature.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable and committed approach to work.
• Genuine passion for supporting older people and improving quality of life.
• Ability to work either day or night shifts.
• Professional, respectful and person-centred approach to care.
• Ability to build strong and trusting relationships with residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
• Support residents with personal care, mobility and daily routines.
• Assist residents with washing, dressing and maintaining personal hygiene.
• Support with meals, refreshments and hydration.
• Encourage residents to maintain their independence where possible.
• Support residents to participate in activities and social interaction.
• Maintain residents' comfort, dignity, privacy and wellbeing.
• Report changes in residents' health or wellbeing to senior staff.
