Job summary

Synthomer plc is seeking a Day Operator at its Stallingborough site to ensure safe material movement and support production.

You will offload bulk materials, label and store, load dispatch, perform daily forklift inspections, and help train other operators while adhering to SHE standards. The role offers a hands-on, team-focused environment with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, chemical, warehouse or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of chemical handling and safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely offload bulk and packaged raw materials.
  • Label, store and handle materials in line with company and legal requirements.
  • Load finished goods and waste materials for dispatch.
  • Maintain safety, health and environmental (SHE) standards.
  • Carry out DSEAR and dyke inspections and checks.
  • Assist training and development of fellow operators.

We are looking for a Day Operator to join our Stallingborough site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on operational work, takes pride in maintaining high safety standards, and wants to be part of a supportive production team.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Day Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe movement of materials across the site while supporting efficient production operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Safely offloading bulk and packaged raw materials
  • Labelling, storing and handling materials in line with company and legal requirements
  • Loading finished goods and waste materials for dispatch
  • Operating safely within all site Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) standards
  • Carrying out DSEAR and dyke inspections and checks
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across operational areas
  • Supporting stock checks and inventory activities
  • Completing daily forklift truck inspections and associated records
  • Assisting with the training and development of fellow operators
  • Supporting a high-performance team culture built on communication, collaboration and accountability
  • Safely cleaning equipment and plant areas using high-pressure water jetting equipment
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, chemical, warehouse or industrial environment
  • Experience of chemical analysis within the chemical industry (preferred but not essential)
  • A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards
  • Good attention to detail and record-keeping skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
