Pilgrims’ Friend Society is seeking a compassionate Care Assistant for our Middlefields House in Chippenham. The role involves supporting 48 residents with 24/7 care, day and night shifts, and a strong Christian ethos guiding person-centred care.

Experience with dementia and a team-focused, well-organised approach are essential to deliver high-quality care with dignity and respect in a friendly, supportive home.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing care and an understanding of dementia is essential.
• Zero hour contracts/bank shifts available to cover for absence, sickness, holidays and relief.
• Available to work weekends and weekdays.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality, professional service of care to residents.
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping with baths.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents to offer comfort, reassurance and companionship.
• Treat residents with dignity and respect.
• Support residents to stay independent and engaged in the community.

We provide 24/7 care and support to our older and sometimes sick residents and are seeking for both day and night staff to bring on board.

• Provide a high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs.
• Treat our residents with dignity and respect.
• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage themto be part of the community within the home.
• Assist with tidying, cleaning, laundering and other domestic tasks when needed.
• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have an empathy with them;
• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our clients; and
• You need to be well-organised, adaptable and practical.
• Experience in providing care and an understanding of dementia is essential.
