Job summary

Pilgrims’ Friend Society in Walton-on-the-Naze is seeking a Senior Care Assistant for our Luff House home. The role involves providing high quality care to older residents, supporting health and well-being, and leading the care team during shifts.

You will supervise staff, manage care plans, assist with bathing, meals, and end-of-life care, and work as part of a compassionate team. RQF Health & Social Care level 2+ and at least 2 years of senior care experience are required; flexible, bank

Qualifications

• RQF Health & Social Care level 2 or above.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Senior Care Assistant in residential care.
• Willingness to lead shifts and perform hands-on duties while working in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, professional care to residents.
• Supervise all care team staff during duty periods, including health, safety and security tasks.
• Administer medications to residents and arrange cover for staff absences.
• Assist residents with personal care such as bathing.
• Support residents to eat and drink and maintain dignity.
• Ensure care plans are up-to-date and followed.
• Encourage residents to stay independent and engaged with the community within the home.
• Support end-of-life care as needed.

Luff Houseoffers residential care, dementia care and respite care along with retirement support in a superb, purpose-built environment on the fringes of Frinton-on-Sea.The health, well-being and happiness of our residents are of primary importance to us.

• Provide high quality, professional service of care to our residents.
• Supervise all staff on the Care Team during your period of duty (including among other responsibilities: taking responsibility for Health, Safety and Security; administering medications to residents; arranging cover for staff who are absent through sickness; etc).
• Help a resident with personal cleanliness such as helping a resident with a bath.
• Support residents to eat and drink.
• Get to know residents so as to comfort, assist and give reassurance when needed.
• Supervise the care and well-being of our residents.
• Ensure residents’care plans are up-to-date.
• Support our residents to keep independent and healthy and encourage themto be part of the community within the home.
• Treat others as individuals with unique and diverse needs and treat our residents with dignity and respect.
• Assist in the care at end of life.
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you are required to perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.
• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them;
• You must have either an RQF accreditation in Health &Social care at level 2 or above;
• You have a minimum of 2 years experience working as a Senior CareAssistant in residential care;
• You must be willing to both leadshifts and take a "hands-on" role as required; and
• You need to be able to work in a team and be willing to take on any task to provide an excellent level of care to our residents.
