Job summary

Crosslaw House Care Home in Lanark, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Day Cook on a full- or part-time basis. You will prepare nutritious meals with a focus on individual dietary needs, hygiene and food safety, helping provide routine, comfort and enjoyment for residents.

The role offers a consistent pattern with no late evenings or split shifts, plus ongoing training and development opportunities. You will work with fresh ingredients, assist with menu planning and ensure high standards

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Experience in a kitchen or food preparation role.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job description

Located in Lanark, South Lanarkshire, our beautiful care home provides Nursing & Dementia care for 45-residents.

Day Cook Contract

• £13.45 per hour
• £500 Welcome Bonus
• Contracted to full time or part time hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Day Cook, you will play an important role in preparing and delivering high quality, nutritious meals that support wellbeing and enhance daily life. This is a rewarding position where your cooking brings comfort, routine and enjoyment to those you support.

You will prepare and serve meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences, ensuring high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety are maintained at all times. Working with fresh ingredients, you will support menu planning and contribute to a varied and balanced dining experience.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a consistent routine and strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in delivering quality food every day.
