Job summary

Avon Search is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant (Days) for a 30-bed residential home in the Churston area of Brixham. The role is a 36-hour week on 8am–8pm day shifts with paid breaks, and you will be part of a caring team that supports residents’ daily routines and activities.

You will provide compassionate personal care, meals and mobility assistance while promoting dignity, independence and choice in a warm, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care setting is preferred but not essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is desirable.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents.
• Support residents with personal care, mobility and daily routines.
• Assist with meals and refreshments.
• Support residents to participate in activities and social interaction.
• Maintain residents’ comfort, dignity and wellbeing throughout the day.
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
• Respond promptly and compassionately to residents’ needs and requests.
• Promote a safe, comfortable and supportive environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider care team.
