Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a 24x7 rotating shift pattern (4 days on / 4 days off, 4 nights on / 4 nights off); perform change control and incident management.
- Maintain accurate tracking of all Data Centre assets and inventory.
- Supervise and escort third-party vendors as required.
- Plan and carry out installation, relocation, and decommissioning of IT hardware and network equipment in line with Data Centre standards.
- Manage structured cabling and physical infrastructure across the Data Centre.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with SLAs.
- Update documentation and systems regularly to maintain accurate records.
- Comply with health and safety policies, quality standards, and security procedures.
Daily Operations and Projects:
- Support efficient Data Centre operations using toolsets.
- Oversee Data Centre governance and uphold high standards.
- Collaborate with facilities providers to improve energy efficiency.
- Support daily Data Centre activities including installations, changes, and maintenance.
- Participate in service improvement initiatives and infrastructure projects.
- Perform server configurations (IDRAC, iLO).
- Conduct hands-on tasks such as racking, stacking, patching, and cable management.
- Identify and troubleshoot faults, escalating when necessary.
- Manage complex cabling to ensure reliable connectivity.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience in high-risk environments and data centres.
- Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Remedy (desirable).
- Attention to detail and proactive approach.
- Understanding of infrastructure technologies and networking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ITSM tools.
- Dependable team player capable of working independently and under pressure.
- Flexible with shift work.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
