Location: Acton, Ealing, Greater London, United Kingdom
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a 24x7x365 rotating shift pattern (4 days on / 4 days off, 4 nights on / 4 nights off).
- Perform change control and incident management.
- Maintain accurate tracking of all Data Centre assets and inventory.
- Supervise and escort third-party vendors as required.
- Plan and carry out installation, relocation, and decommissioning of IT hardware and network equipment in line with Data Centre standards.
- Manage structured cabling and physical infrastructure across the Data Centre.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with agreed SLAs.
- Update documentation and systems regularly to maintain accurate records.
- Comply with health and safety policies, quality standards, and site-specific security procedures.
Daily Operations and Projects:
- Maintain and utilise Data Centre toolsets to support efficient operations.
- Oversee Data Centre governance and ensure high standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with facilities providers to optimise energy efficiency.
- Support the daily running of the Data Centre, including installations, changes, and maintenance.
- Participate in service improvement initiatives and major infrastructure projects, including power system upgrades and replacements.
- Conduct basic server configuration (IDRAC, iLO).
- Perform hands-on tasks such as racking, stacking, patching, and cable management.
- Identify and troubleshoot faults, escalating when necessary.
- Manage complex inter-rack and inter-room cabling to support reliable IT and end-user connectivity.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Prior experience working in high-risk environments and data centres.
- Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable).
- Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy (desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT service management tools.
- A dependable team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Flexible with regard to shift work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
