Job Description:

Location: Acton, Ealing, Greater London, United Kingdom

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a 24x7x365 rotating shift pattern (4 days on / 4 days off, 4 nights on / 4 nights off)
  • Perform change control and incident management
  • Maintain accurate tracking of all Data Centre assets and inventory
  • Supervise and escort third-party vendors as required
  • Plan and carry out installation, relocation, and decommissioning of IT hardware and network equipment in line with Data Centre standards
  • Manage structured cabling and physical infrastructure across the Data Centre
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with agreed SLAs
  • Update documentation and systems regularly to maintain accurate records
  • Comply with health and safety policies, quality standards, and site-specific security procedures

Daily Operations and Projects:

  • Maintain and utilise Data Centre toolsets to support efficient operations
  • Oversee Data Centre governance and ensure high standards are upheld
  • Collaborate with facilities providers to optimise energy efficiency
  • Support the daily running of the Data Centre, including installations, changes, and maintenance
  • Participate in service improvement initiatives and major infrastructure projects, including power system upgrades and replacements
  • Conduct basic server configuration (IDRAC, iLO)
  • Perform hands-on tasks such as racking, stacking, patching, and cable management
  • Identify and troubleshoot faults, escalating when necessary
  • Manage complex inter-rack and inter-room cabling to support reliable IT and end-user connectivity

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Prior experience working in high-risk environments and data centres
  • Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT service management tools
  • A dependable team player with the ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Flexible with regard to shift work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
