Job summary

BrowserStack seeks a Datacenter Operations Engineer to support our global datacenter infrastructure. You will maintain servers, storage, networking gear, PDUs, and monitoring, working with senior engineers to deploy new hardware and software.

The role emphasizes routine maintenance, inventory control, and incident response within a fast-paced environment. Experience with virtualization (VMware/Proxmox) and server hardware is desirable.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years IT support experience.
• Strong understanding of datacenter infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, PDUs.
• Proficiency with Linux and macOS command lines and admin tasks.
• Android/iOS knowledge is a plus.
• Scripting in Bash or Ansible is advantageous.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and Google Workspace.
• Basic TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and switching knowledge.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with datacenter best practices (installation, cabling, power, cooling).
• Bachelor-level degree in CS/IT or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support datacenter infrastructure hardware and software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to deploy new hardware and software.
• Perform routine inspections and daily maintenance to prevent issues.
• Inventory tagging and repairs tracking.
• Monitor temperature, power, and network metrics; escalate anomalies.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with cross-functional teams.
• Document system configurations, changes and incidents.
• Coordinate repairs with vendors and service providers.
• Support security protocols and access control.
• Stay updated on trends and best practices in datacenter operations.
