Job summary

Google LLC is seeking an Operations Technician for the Hardware Operations team. You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain servers and related hardware and server software, including networking components such as routers and switches.

Responsibilities include deploying data center infrastructure, diagnosing issues, ensuring data security, performing end-of-life replacements, and conducting preventative maintenance while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Experience assembling mechanical or electrical systems or repairing equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting operating systems, computer and server hardware.
• Experience with networking protocols.
• Ability to lift/move 50 lb (23 kg) of equipment.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, nights, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams.
• Report issues and follow data center procedures to troubleshoot equipment and diagnose issues.
• Maintain the security and integrity of data per Google security standards.
• Disassemble equipment at end-of-life via part replacement or maintenance.
• Repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure.
