Job summary

Arcus Search is working with a highly technical organisation in London seeking a Database Platform Engineer to help build and evolve the database services used across a large engineering environment. You’ll run and scale database platforms across on-prem and cloud, work with PostgreSQL, SQL Server and MySQL, and automate provisioning, upgrades, replication, monitoring and other operational processes.

This role blends database engineering with DevOps and platform engineering, offering exposure

Qualifications

Experience operating databases at scale and automating improvements.
DevOps, SRE or Platform Engineering background preferred.
Some Python scripting for automation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Run and scale database platforms across on-prem and cloud environments.
Automate provisioning, upgrades, replication, monitoring and other operational processes.
Improve reliability, performance, capacity and resilience across database services.
Work with Linux, Python, Terraform, Ansible and modern infrastructure tooling.
Support services running across AWS, containers and Kubernetes.
Troubleshoot database performance, replication, indexing and query issues.
