Peterhouse in Cambridge is seeking an experienced Database Manager to lead the administration of the alumni database (Raiser’s Edge) and support the College’s ambitious fundraising program.
You will design queries, exports and reports, ensure data quality, liaise with the Development Office and University CUDAR, and provide training to colleagues. A degree or equivalent and strong organisational skills are essential; full-time 5 days or part-time 4 days.
The salary for the post will be in the range of £35,372 - £38,289 (pro rata if applicable) per annum, depending on experience. The post is offered either full-time, 5 days per week, or part-time, 4 days per week.
Peterhouse is the oldest College in Cambridge (founded in 1284) and is among the smallest (currently 280 undergraduates; 176 postgraduates; 43 Fellows).
The College’s development activities are essential to its future. The Office fundraises for the College, organises a wide range of events and produces publications for alumni.
As we approach our 750th Anniversary in 2034, Peterhouse is planning a major fundraising campaign that will lead to a sustained increase in our alumni participation rate. To support these efforts, the College seeks to appoint an experienced Database Manager to provide administrative leadership and work closely with key colleagues in the College’s busy Development Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for leveraging our database to build the momentum behind the campaign.
The Database Manager will act as the principal administrator for the College’s alumni database (Raiser’s Edge) and facilitate its efficient day-to-day running; provide guidance and training on Raiser’s Edge modules to members of the development team and members of the college’s senior leadership team and continually review processes to ensure our data is entered into Raiser’s Edge in the most logical and consistent manner. This will also include designing and running complex queries, exports and reports and ensuring that data is cleaned at regular and timely intervals. The postholder will also be responsible for communicating regularly with the University's Development and Alumni Relations Office (CUDAR) to ensure the timely transfer of data between the College and the University for record changes, including changes of address, deaths etc, and other general updates, amongst other required duties.
The successful applicant will have high-level, demonstrative experience working with and extracting data from databases (ideally Raisers Edge), ideally within development or an equivalent results-based environment, and be educated to degree level or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills to maximise outcomes against multiple competing priorities, as well as being a strong team-player and with an ability to work independently.
The closing date for applications is 8.00am on 23rd November 2026. Interviews will be held on 1st December 2026.
