Job summary

Arup seeks a Data Security Service Lead to stand up a new Data Security service. You will define the vision, operating model, and roadmap, building a team and establishing governance.

The role focuses on embedding data protection across Arup’s operations and projects, guiding priorities and measuring success. You will work with senior stakeholders and technical teams to translate strategy into practical delivery, covering data classification, DLP, encryption, monitoring, and resilience across

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in data security, including data classification, DLP, encryption, and data lifecycle protection.
• Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, CIS Controls.
• Proven experience owning or leading a global or enterprise-scale security service or capability.
• Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, turning strategy into sustained delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the Data Security Service vision, roadmap, operating model and success measures.
• Translate the Data Security Plan into a prioritised multi-year delivery roadmap across governance, classification, DLP, encryption, monitoring and resilience.
• Provide day-to-day leadership with stakeholders and technical teams to turn data security strategy into tangible outcomes.
• Act as single-point ownership for data security outcomes across the organisation and embed data protection into operations.
