Job summary

Billigence is seeking an experienced Data Security Engineer to implement data access policies and privacy controls for a leading insurance client. You will design policy-based access using Immuta integrated with Snowflake and connect BigID classifications to policy enforcement.

Join a delivery team to build a governed data platform with Collibra, implement ABAC controls, and translate GDPR requirements into concrete technical safeguards across data pipelines. Remote UK/Europe eligible.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience implementing Immuta, ideally integrated with Snowflake.
Hands-on experience with BigID for data discovery, classification and privacy use cases.
Strong understanding of Snowflake security, including RBAC, masking and row access policies.
Experience implementing ABAC and policy-as-code approaches.
Good knowledge of GDPR and data privacy regulations.
Familiarity with Collibra and how it connects to classification and access controls.
SQL and Python scripting experience.
Experience in regulated industries such as insurance or financial services is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain security controls to technical and business stakeholders.
The ability to work independently and hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data access policies in Immuta for Snowflake with ABAC and policy enforcement.
Configure Immuta-Snowflake integration, data source registration, user attributes and audits.
Implement row-level security, masking and dynamic data protection for personal data.
Configure BigID to discover, classify and tag sensitive data across Snowflake and other sources.
Connect BigID classifications and Collibra metadata to Immuta to drive automated access policies.
Translate GDPR and internal data handling requirements into technical controls.
Define data security standards including role design and least-privilege access.
Set up monitoring, auditing and reporting on data access and policy coverage.
Support data subject requests, retention and privacy workflows when required.
Collaborate with architecture, engineering and governance teams to embed security in pipelines.
Document policies, controls and operating procedures and support knowledge transfer.
