Job summary

Ocado is seeking a Data Scientist in London (Hybrid) to fuel our Treefrogs team. You will own the full data science lifecycle, from researching cutting-edge techniques to deploying production-ready models for global logistics and supply chain applications.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for delivering scalable ML solutions that drive efficiency and partner revenue. The role requires strong Python and SQL, hands-on GCP experience, and the ability to productionise models

Qualifications

• Strong programming in Python and solid SQL knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• 2+ years data science with productionising models OR 2+ years in software/data engineering with ML study.
• Good understanding of fundamental ML concepts.
• Familiarity with modern software development processes, including CI/CD, testing, and documentation.
• Ability to document and explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing model architectures and adapt them to operational challenges for global expansions.
• Design and build scalable data pipelines for machine learning data feeds.
• Own, support, and maintain ML models in production with high availability.
• Collaborate with Product teams to identify and build ML applications across our stream.
• Work with Software Engineering to design interfaces between ML models and software systems.
• Communicate complex model findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Promote best practices in ML development, testing, and deployment.
• Stay up to date with ML research to implement innovative techniques.
