Ocado Group is seeking a Senior Data Scientist in Hatfield on a hybrid basis for a 12-month FTC. The role focuses on reducing order damages and improving NPS by consolidating data sources, bridging gaps, and applying advanced statistics and ML. You will deliver insights to guide operational investments and strategic decisions.

You will work with cross-functional teams to scope, plan, and deliver outputs, mentoring junior data scientists and communicating results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with SQL and Python in data science contexts.
• Proven ability to develop and deploy ML models.
• Strong stakeholder and business partner management; data-driven influence.
• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced data environments.

Responsibilities

• Query data using SQL and other data manipulation tools.
• Explore data leveraging Python to answer complex business questions.
• Define meaningful metrics for complex business problems.
• Apply advanced statistical techniques and best practices in science.
• Produce detailed visualisations and stakeholder reports to influence decisions.
• Develop and iterate prototype solutions and algorithms with the team.
