Babcock International is seeking a Data Scientist to apply AI, machine learning and forecasting to defence challenges, largely remote with fortnightly visits to our Andover site in Hampshire.
You will transform complex operational data into actionable insights, support asset management and maintenance optimisation, and collaborate with engineering, logistics and digital teams to influence strategic decisions across national security projects.
At Babcock, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us, you can play your part as a Data Scientist, working remotely with fortnightly visits to our Andover site.
As a Data Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role in one of the UK's most ambitious defence transformation programme. This is not a traditional data science role focused solely on reporting and analysis. You'll apply artificial intelligence, machine learning, predictive analytics and forecasting techniques to solve complex real-world challenges across asset management, maintenance optimisation, logistics and operational readiness. Your work will directly influence strategic decisions, improve equipment availability and support the development of innovative solutions that strengthen national defence capabilities.
The role is remote, with fortnightly visits to our Andover site. The role is contracted to 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) .
