You will write code, critique methods, and ensure model governance and data quality across attribution, clustering and heuristics.

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing data scientists or ML engineers.
• Hands-on data science and machine learning capability.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with a modern data stack (cloud data lake, Spark/Databricks, AWS).
• Based in Washington, D.C. or willing to relocate there.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the team, set objectives, own performance and development.
• Hire data scientists end-to-end with defined criteria and panel.
• Build data collection and governance standards for future datasets.
• Own model governance, inventory, validation and remediation.
• Lead data science work, frame research questions, and defend method choices.
• Stay hands-on: write code and review methods at the implementation level.
• Maintain reliability of core outputs and decide on trade-offs.
