Job title: Data Risk & Controls Manager

Role description:

The customer is looking for an experienced Data Risk and Controls Manager.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee data release risks and implement controls to ensure data integrity, security, compliance, and quality.
• Ensure BCBS239 standards are met and mapped to relevant metrics.
• Prepare Data Risk Assessment questionnaires and templates.
• Assess data systems, processes, controls, and reports against the questionnaires and templates.
• Develop and work on the Risk Appetite statement and the Return to Green plan for data risks within specific business functions.
• Manage Data Quality issues.
• Collaborate with governance & assurance managers and risk & controls partners on all data risk aspects.
• Ensure projects comply with standards and Data Management Operational procedures.

Key skills/knowledge/experience:

• Extensive experience implementing BCBS239 standards, metrics, and questionnaires.
• High-level knowledge of risks and controls, including definitions, implementation, testing/measurement, and reporting, with a good understanding of data architecture and change management.
• Ability to deliver data risk management initiatives supporting the operational risk framework and risk obligations.
• Support the business in identifying, assessing, mitigating, monitoring, and reporting risks effectively.
• Oversee management of data risks, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, and mitigate risks within the risk appetite, working with the second line of defense.
• Evaluate controls, identify vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies for potential risks.
