Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a data-focused professional to join a team responsible for timely production of statutory returns and statistical information for partners including Ofsted, DFE and YJB. You will help maintain data quality, support new staff through training, and produce clear system instructions to ensure efficient use of information systems.

The role requires strong Excel skills, data analysis, and the ability to work effectively within a team to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant area or equivalent level of experience using case management systems or similar.
• Substantial experience in the effective use of Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, and the ability to support others in IT systems.
• Experience of collection and collation of data, performing calculations and the ability to analyse and interpret data.
• Experience working to strict timescales and meeting deadlines under pressure.
• Organised approach to work with problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work as part of a team and to engage, motivate and direct others toward departmental objectives.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal, appropriate to subject matter and audience.

Responsibilities

• Produce timely and accurate statutory returns and statistical information for internal and external partners (e.g. Ofsted, DFE, YJB).
• Maintain high-quality information in systems and address data quality issues.
• Support training and induction of new staff, and produce clear system usage instructions.
• Work with minimal supervision within a defined department area.
