Job summary

Labour Party is looking for an Information and Governance Officer to deliver the Party’s data protection function and support governance and electoral compliance. The post-holder will work with the outsourced Data Protection Officer, the General Counsel and colleagues in the Governance and Legal Unit.

Based at Head Office in London or Newcastle, the role is hybrid with four days in the office and one day home-based.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data protection law, including UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
• Experience of handling data subject access requests or similar compliance work.
• Ability to use technology to support compliance and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

• 70% of the role focuses on data protection compliance activities and DSAR handling.
• 30% provides governance support across the Governance and Legal Unit, including electoral compliance.
• Liaise with the ICO and other stakeholders as part of the data protection function.
• Work within established processes and escalate complex legal questions when needed.
