Job summary

Government Digital Service, part of DSIT, is seeking a Data Governance Lead to drive privacy and data protection across GOV.UK platforms and related services. You will design controls, lead DPIA processes and work with delivery managers to ensure compliance and speed.

You will lead on engagement with ICO and privacy groups, supervise training, and balance legal requirements with innovative public-sector solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Have data protection & privacy qualifications (IAPP CIPM/CIPP/E or similar) or demonstrable experience in data protection.
• Proven experience leading data protection teams to deliver strategic objectives.
• Experience delivering at pace with tight deadlines in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Governance team to deliver data protection excellence across GDS products.
• Design and implement privacy controls and DPIAs for new projects.
• Oversee DPIAs, Privacy Notices and Records of Processing Activities.
