Job summary

Greene King is seeking a Data Protection Coordinator in the Bury St Edmunds area to respond to data subject access requests and help protect the business from data protection risk. You will communicate with data subjects by phone and email, prepare data for disclosure, and coordinate with IT, support teams and pub leaders to retrieve CCTV footage and records, ensuring timely compliance under UK GDPR.

No prior experience is required, but a genuine interest in data protection law and related

Qualifications

• Experience handling data subject access requests (DSARs) and data rights management.
• Familiarity with UK GDPR and RoPA documentation is advantageous.
• Ability to liaise with multiple internal teams and external parties.

Responsibilities

• Respond to data subject access requests in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with IT, security, and pub teams to retrieve relevant data.
• Prepare personal data for disclosure with appropriate redaction.
• Maintain records of processing activities and data incidents as required by law.
• Escalate complex cases to the DPO when needed.

Job description

As a Data Protection Coordinator, you will respond to data subject access requests & protect the business from data protection risk.

Qualifications

Your role as Data Protection Coordinator

• Ensuring that data subject’s rights-related requests are dealt with correctly and in a timely fashion within
• Corresponding with data subjects by telephone and email to acknowledge and respond to their data protection rights requests
• Managing requests for disclosure of personal data from third parties (police, insurers, licensing authorities, third party employers)
• Liaising with support centre to retrieve personal data and pub team leaders, IT and property support teams to retrieve CCTV recordings
• Preparing personal data for sharing with data subjects and third parties which involves the use of document redaction and video editing software
• Ensuring requests are processed quicky, efficiently and on time (as required by law), escalating complex cases to the DPO for assistance
• Keeping accurate records of the progress and outcome of each request
• Keeping records to evidence compliance with various of the statutory record keeping requirements set out in the UK GDPR e.g. records of processing activities (RoPA), records relating to data subject rights-related requests, records relating to data incidents and personal data breaches

Prior experience: No prior experience required but a genuine interest in data protection law

Relevant Qualifications: Not required but the following might be useful data protection law degree; IAPP CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP

Other relevant skills/experience: producing formal reports, applying a structured and methodical approach to problem-solving.
