Job summary

IG Group is seeking a Data Privacy Manager to oversee the Group's privacy program, act as a central privacy owner, and coordinate DPIAs, DSARs, and breach reporting. The role sits in a newly centralised Data & AI function and requires a proactive, autonomous approach.

You will work with stakeholders across product, technology, and risk to ensure privacy by design and compliant data handling across UK, EU, and international entities. Hybrid working with office days is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a dedicated data privacy role within a regulated environment.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR with practical DPIAs, RoPA and DSAR experience.
• Experience operating within a multi-jurisdictional group structure (UK, EU, APAC).
• Experience designing and embedding privacy governance documentation (policies, procedures, escalation routes).
• Comfortable acting as the primary point of contact for regulators, Audit and Risk stakeholders on privacy matters.
• Strong communication skills to translate legal/regulatory requirements into practical guidance for product, tech, HR and business teams.
• Experience delivering data privacy training and awareness programmes.

Responsibilities

• Be the central point of contact for data privacy across the Group, guiding policy interpretation and staff guidance.
• Support the governance framework for DPIAs, privacy by design, retention, RoPA and third‑party diligence.
• Own cross-border data transfers using SCCs, UK IDTA, and adequacy assessments.
• Manage regulatory interface including breach notifications, DPIA consultations, and privacy reporting to SLT/Board.
• Advise on privacy by design for products and customer journeys.
• Translate UK privacy law into practical, proportionate recommendations for stakeholders.
• Manage complex privacy incidents including regulatory notification and affected individuals.
• Strengthen privacy awareness and build out the privacy function with training and escalation.
• Contribute to the Group's data risk approach across business activity.
