Job summary

Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Southampton is seeking a Business Unit Manager to lead data, finance and governance reporting within the UK Customer Maritime Services directorate. Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level and Power BI to capture, analyse and present data clearly.
• Experience monitoring and managing team budgets and finances.
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation, analysis and continuous improvement of MI data across the directorate.
• Produce and present monthly performance reports with clear insights for stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools, identifying data issues and driving improvements through automation (Excel, Power BI).
• Analyse trends to assess demand and inform operational and strategic decisions.
• Monitor and report on financial and governance performance.
• Track and manage directorate spend, ensuring accurate records and budgeting alignment.
