Job summary

Roche Welwyn is seeking a Data Modeling Expert to drive data modeling, semantics, ontologies and data standards across RED. You will collaborate with informatics and engineering colleagues to ensure data are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) and ready for AI/ML applications.

A strong background in data governance and R&D data handling is essential. You will influence information architecture, participate in governance strategies, and advocate for data-centric practices

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a scientific or technical field.
• Experience in Data Governance, Data Standards, Data Modeling, Ontology Development, or related fields.
• Able to lead initiatives in a matrixed organization.
• Experience in a Research & Development organization and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key subject matter expert on data modeling, ontologies, semantics, and standards efforts, interfacing with stakeholders and teams.
• Translate complex scientific requirements into clear draft data models for FAIR data usage.
• Contribute to and occasionally drive development of data models, standards, and information architecture solutions.
• Contribute to strategies to ensure pan-RED Roche data is AI/ML-ready, including AI data policies.
• Support data quality tracking strategies and governance discussions.
