Job summary

Biffa Group is seeking a Data Migration Manager. This Hybrid role (2 days in the office) focuses on defining and owning data migration activities across transformation programmes, with consolidation of legacy platforms and loading into the D365 ERP system.

You will collaborate with the Data Architect and Product Teams to create reusable migration patterns and ensure data quality before loading, while liaising with Finance to validate migrated data against source records.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale data migrations in medium to large organisations.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and documentation standards.
• Proficient in T-SQL and performance tuning.
• Experience with SSIS or Azure Data Factory to manage migrations.
• Ability to translate data issues into financial impact language for finance teams.
• Familiarity with Finance systems and ERP data loads (D365).

Responsibilities

• Define the Data Migration strategy, including data cleanse approach, for Biffa and identify technologies required to enhance our way of delivering migration.
• Create and maintain the Data Migration plan, including cycles, resourcing, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the overall business timelines on all projects.
• Oversee or manage extraction processes from systems to access raw data and engage business stakeholders on known data issues and required transformation logic, plus oversee or manage transformation & load activities.
• Lead data analysis and profiling efforts to identify gaps, quantify potential issues, and develop Data Quality reporting tools in line with company standards.
• Partner with Finance teams to validate migrated data against source system financial records, ensuring that these reconcile or being able to explain the discrepancies and impacts.
• Document data issues, gaps, mappings, required business rules, and risks, validating this information with stakeholders.
