Job summary

The Data Architect role at Places for People leads the design and governance of the company’s data platform. You will guide architecture, standards and data product quality while collaborating with the Data Platform Engineering team to advance the data mesh journey across Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery.

You will mentor engineers, align with security and GDPR requirements, and drive scalable data pipelines, governance, and interoperability across enterprise data assets.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Architect or similar role with a strong track record.
• Strong knowledge of data mesh principles, data warehousing concepts, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Google Cloud Platform, Azure or AWS) and data products.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design of the data platform architecture to meet current and future needs.
• Produce architectural documentation and diagrams for clear understanding and implementation.
• Embed domain-oriented ownership and Data as a Product mindset across development efforts.
• Evaluate tools, infrastructure and services to enhance the platform.
• Establish and maintain architectural standards, reference architectures and best practices.
• Design data products that are interoperable, governable and secure, with scalable pipelines.
