Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a Data Architect for a UK-based transformation, with North West England location and 1 day per week in the office. The role involves moving the data estate to Google Cloud and building a modern Data Mesh platform to enable data products across the business.

You will lead data architecture, set standards, and mentor the data engineering community while partnering with domain teams to deliver scalable, secure data products and contribute to the technology roadmap.

Qualifications

Experience as a Data Architect or similar with hands-on data platform delivery.
Proven ability to design scalable batch, streaming and event-driven data architectures.
Strong knowledge of Data Mesh, data products and domain-oriented architecture.
Understanding of data governance, security and GDPR compliance.
Excellent articulation of technical concepts to engineers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Shape and evolve the overall data platform architecture.
Define architectural standards, patterns and best practices.
Drive Data Mesh and Data as a Product principles.
Design scalable, secure and well-governed data products.
Design batch, streaming and event-driven data architectures.
Evaluate new technologies, tools and services.
Ensure solutions are scalable, observable and secure.
Support the data strategy and technology roadmap development.
Partner with domain teams to design robust data products.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring across the data engineering community.
