Job summary

Moseley School & Sixth Form is seeking an experienced Data Manager to lead data strategy, MIS management and reporting across the school.

You will drive data governance, ensure GDPR compliance, develop robust BI dashboards (Power BI) and support school improvement through accurate data insights for senior leaders and governors.

You will oversee data quality, manage census returns, and foster data literacy among staff, contributing to strategic decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in school data management and a thorough understanding of MIS, data governance, GDPR, census returns and statutory reporting requirements.
• Advanced technical expertise in Microsoft Excel, Power BI and data visualisation tools, with the ability to manipulate, analyse and present complex data effectively.
• Strong understanding of business intelligence, performance analytics, trend analysis and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the school's MIS, data management, assessment and performance data processes and ensure data integrity, accuracy and security.
• Develop robust reporting mechanisms to provide meaningful insight into performance across the organisation.
• Provide expert leadership in data governance, QA and continuous improvement to maintain statutory/compliance requirements.
• Present high-quality management information to senior leaders and governors, informing strategy and decision-making.
• Oversee data governance, quality assurance, audit and compliance and manage stakeholder expectations.

Moseley School & Sixth Form are seeking to appoint an experienced, highly skilled and motivated Data Manager to lead the strategic management, analysis and reporting of data across the school. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional professional to play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective use of data to drive school improvement, support student achievement and inform strategic decision-making. Working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external stakeholders, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity, accuracy and security of the school's data systems whilst developing robust reporting mechanisms that provide meaningful insight into performance across the organisation.The Data Manager will provide expert leadership in all aspects of data management, business intelligence and reporting. They will oversee the school's Management Information Systems (MIS), assessment and performance data processes, statutory returns and compliance requirements, ensuring that data is used effectively to support operational excellence and educational outcomes. The post holder will be responsible for producing and analysing complex datasets, identifying trends, monitoring key performance indicators and presenting high-quality management information to senior leaders and governors. They will also lead on data governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the school remains compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.
