Job summary

Peterborough City Council is seeking an intelligence and data analyst on a fixed-term contract to support the Trading Standards and Housing Standards teams. You will analyse data from multiple sources, interpret insights, and present findings to inform enforcement and resource allocation.

You will lead on proactive enforcement opportunities, investigate cases using data-led approaches, and prepare reports for statutory returns while managing digital evidence in accordance with policies.

Qualifications

• Has demonstrable in-depth knowledge and understanding of IT systems and databases.
• Has a good knowledge and understanding of the principles of project management.
• Able to analyse complex data and identify patterns and trends to develop insights.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse, interpret and present data from a range of sources to inform decision-making.
• Lead on identifying proactive enforcement opportunities and investigate cases with a data-led approach.
• Prepare reports and statutory returns for Trading Standards and Housing Standards.
• Handle, store and destroy digital evidence obtained by officers during enquiries.
