Marks & Spencer in Chester is seeking a BI/Data Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality, trusted data products across the Chester Contact Centre and wider retail business. The role sits between Data Engineering and Analytics, designing, building and optimising scalable data models, transformation pipelines and reusable datasets.

Working as part of the CSSC Business Intelligence team, you’ll use tools such as SQL, PySpark, Databricks, Power BI, Power Query, DAX and Power Platform to

Qualifications

• Strong SQL capability with complex queries and scalable data solutions.
• Advanced knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, DAX and M for reporting and analytics.
• Experience with Databricks, PySpark and cloud-based data workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and PySpark within Databricks.
• Transform raw data into clean, structured data models for downstream BI and analytics.
• Develop trusted datasets that support reporting and self-service analytics.
