Job summary

Ventula Consulting Ltd. in Hull is seeking a Data Governance Manager for a hybrid role (3x on-site per week). You will build and establish an enterprise data governance capability from the ground up, moving from fragmented practices to a governed, trusted framework.

The role requires strong DAMA DMBOK knowledge and practical UK GDPR expertise, with emphasis on transforming data quality, metadata, lineage and stewardship into scalable operational processes across the organisation.

Qualifications

Data Governance Manager – Hull (3x a week onsite) - £65,000 + benefits

We are working with a global infrastructure organisation operating across complex, highly regulated and operationally critical environments. With data increasingly central to how the organisation makes decisions, manages risk, improves performance and develops new digital and AI-enabled capabilities, they are investing in how they govern and use their data across the organisation.

Our client is now looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager to build and establish their enterprise data governance capability from the ground up, moving them from fragmented, reactive data practices to an approach that is governed, trusted and scalable. The Data Governance Manager will have strong knowledge of DAMA DMBOK (or an equivalent framework), along with practical knowledge of UK GDPR and data governance controls.

This role requires strong stakeholder management and would suit someone who enjoys changing behaviours as much as creating frameworks, leading through influence and building strong relationships across the organisation.

Key Requirements

• Experience building data governance frameworks from scratch
• Strong knowledge of DAMA DMBOK (or an equivalent framework)
• Strong understanding of UK GDPR
• Experience turning concepts such as data quality, metadata, lineage and stewardship into operational processes
• Experience working with data governance technologies such as Microsoft Purview, data catalogues, lineage, data quality and MDM platforms
• Confidence operating across Microsoft, SAP and cloud environments
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
