Job summary

Ventula Consulting Ltd. is recruiting a Data Governance Manager for Cardiff, operating on a hybrid model with 3 days on site. The role focuses on building the enterprise data governance capability from the ground up in a global infrastructure setting.

You will drive data governance initiatives, align processes with DAMA DMBOK and UK GDPR, and work with Purview, data catalogs and MDM platforms to turn concepts into operational realities.

Qualifications

• Experience building data governance frameworks from scratch
• Strong knowledge of DAMA DMBOK (or an equivalent framework)
• Strong understanding of UK GDPR
• Experience turning concepts like data quality, metadata, lineage and stewardship into operational processes
• Experience working with data governance technologies such as Microsoft Purview, data catalogues, lineage, data quality and MDM platforms
• Confidence operating across Microsoft, SAP and cloud environments
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

Data Governance Manager – Cardiff (3x a week onsite) - £65,000 + benefits

We are working with a global infrastructure organisation operating across complex, highly regulated and operationally critical environments. With data increasingly central to how the organisation makes decisions, manages risk, improves performance and develops new digital and AI-enabled capabilities, they are investing in how they govern and use their data across the organisation.

Our client is now looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager to build and establish their enterprise data governance capability from the ground up, moving them from fragmented, reactive data practices to an approach that is governed, trusted and scalable. The Data Governance Manager will have strong knowledge of DAMA DMBOK (or an equivalent framework), along with practical knowledge of UK GDPR and data governance controls.

This role requires strong stakeholder management and would suit someone who enjoys changing behaviours as much as creating frameworks, leading through influence and building strong relationships across the organisation.
