Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to shape enterprise data practices across governance, cataloging, and quality programs. You will define ownership, standards, and decision rights, partnering with Privacy and Security to secure data handling and compliance.

The role emphasizes building scalable governance frameworks, catalog management, and training initiatives to elevate organizational data maturity and enable trusted analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing data governance frameworks, data product management, and standards.
• Experience establishing data owner/steward accountability models and decision-rights frameworks.
• Experience with data governance tools/platforms such as Alation, Ataccama, or Collibra.
• Experience with data cataloging.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.

Responsibilities

• Manage data as a strategic product by defining dataset ownership, accessibility, usability, and standard definitions.
• Establish consistent taxonomies across booking, ticketing, servicing, and supplier data.
• Develop and operationalize data owner and data steward accountability models and decision rights.
• Develop a data governance framework supporting high-quality, documented, discoverable, and standardized data assets.
• Govern data contracts owned by data producers to support downstream consumers and prevent breaking changes.
• Manage the data catalog and enable self-service product discovery and data lineage understanding.
• Monitor and audit data quality metrics, governance effectiveness, and data governance maturity.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve data management practices.
• Govern prioritized enterprise metrics and KPIs within the semantic layer.
• Partner with Privacy and Information Security teams on data handling, access, and protection requirements.
• Support internal and external audit readiness through evidence repositories, control documentation, and remediation tracking.
• Contribute to data readiness and governance standards for generative and agentic AI travel use cases.
• Design and implement data governance training and awareness programs.
